DR. ABDUL HAMID ABDULLAH is the Group Managing Director of EMC Group of Companies. He holds: Ph.D (Bus. Admin.-Human Resource Management (HRM)) from Asia e University (AeU), Malaysia; M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences & Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Virginia, USA; B. Sc. (Hons.) (Idaho State University, Idaho, USA); Dip. Sc. & Educ. (University Putra Malaysia(UPM)); PG. Dip. HRM (Lincolnshire & Humberside, UK); and he has a number of professional affiliations. He has been appointed as a Research Fellow in the School of Management at Asia e University, Malaysia. He, too, is a Fellow of the Arabian Society of Human Resource Management (FASHRM) and the International Professional Managers Association (FPMA,UK).

He completed his Ph.D in 2010 and the thesis topic was: The Development of Human Resource Practitioner Competency Model Perceived by Malaysian Human Resource Practitioners and Consultants. It was examined by External Examiners: Late Emeritus Professor Dr. John Milton-Smith (Ph.D Cambridge) (Former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Curtin University, Australia), and Professor Dr. Roselina Ahmad Saufi (University Malaysia Sabah).

He started off his career as a high school teacher teaching Chemistry & Biology at Anderson School, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. He is a former lecturer (Environmental Sciences/Engineering) (University of Technology Malaysia – UTM) and has served both local companies and Multi National Companies in the capacity as Senior HR Practitioner/ Director/ Senior Director. Among companies he served include: SME Group of Companies,  Seagate Technology Incorporated (US-based),  and Gateway Incorporated (US-based). He, too, provides consultancy services to a number of organizations – local and international (HRM and HRD).  He has close to 30 years of working experience.

He has presented at Conferences – both national and international levels including in Malaysia,  Singapore,  Negara Brunei Darussalam,  Republic of India,  Republic of Indonesia, Kingdom of Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of  Saudi Arabia.
